Chief Executive Officer

• Janette Twait
  Since 2000, Jan Twait has provided strategic leadership for the Siouxland Community Blood Bank by providing long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. The CEO is also responsible for the blood center’s operations, technologies and quality system and ensures facility compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Representation of the blood center in local, regional and national arenas for technical, medical, legal, media and administrative functions is also done by the CEO.

Medical Director

• Dr. Michael Kafka
  Medical Director oversees all operations of SCBB.

Director of Collections

• Anjeanette Barto
  The Collections Department is responsible for collection of blood products in a safe, efficient manner at mobiles and fixed sites. Collections ensures excellent customer service to donors and volunteers while creating donor loyalty through the donation process. Together with a staff of 85, the Director of Collections strives to meet strategic and departmental goals.

Director of Hospital Services

• Nancy Hittle
  The Director of Laboratory oversees all operations of the laboratory and is aided by the Product Supervisor and the Testing Supervisor. Three departments make up the laboratory: Component, Testing and Hospital Services. The Component Department of the laboratory separates the blood into its various components, store it properly and enter data about the blood into the computer. The Testing Department then performs various tests on each blood sample collected and enters data into the system. Lastly, Hospital Services fills orders for blood for the 37 hospitals that the Siouxland Community Blood Bank serves. Hospital Services tracks blood inventory and delivers blood shipments to the hospitals.

Director of Recruitment

• Heather Marreel
  The Recruitment Department has 7 recruiters that travel throughout our Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota territories to organize blood drives and recruit volunteer blood donors. Also on staff is a Tele-recruitment team that calls to set appointments for blood drives throughout the territory. Recruitment also manages all marketing of the Siouxland Community Blood Bank and arranges volunteering opportunities and fundraising.

Quality Assurance Officer

• Ellen Green
  The QA staff of two oversee quality systems which include: ensuring adherence to all Regulatory standards, regulations and guidelines, adequate and effective record keeping and documentation throughout the system, comprehensive, appropriate and effective training for all staff, adequate quality control and adherence to current good manufacturing practices, and ensuring quality is a continual process with ongoing assessment of the effectiveness of the system.
