Everyone Has It - Everyone Needs It

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
~ Winston Churchill

Blood is vital to life. It performs many important functions within the body such as supplying oxygen to your entire body, supplying nutrients like glucose, amino acids and fatty acids, removing waste material like carbon dioxide, regulating body temperature and coagulating to help repair the body from injury. Blood also transports hormones throughout the body and acts as a messenger to signal when bodily damage has occurred.

Blood donors are vital to the cycle of life. Without donors to supply hospitals with blood products, patients who are having surgery, undergoing cancer treatment and recovering from accidents wouldn't have this resource to heal properly.

Listed below are several topics related to blood and the important role it plays in our lives.
