Mobile blood drawing capabilities are important because the blood bank conducts blood drives in over one hundred communities in our tri-state service area. Currently, we have two mobile buses, two mini-buses and three van-trailer mobile collection units that reach a broad geographic area covering twenty thousand square miles.

Over the past seven years our blood bank service operation has expanded from sixteen hospitals to thirty-seven hospitals. Our service area has nearly doubled encompassing forty-one counties in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

Up to seven mobile collection units are in continual service to help sustain the blood collection needs for our region. Mobile blood drives are conducted at businesses, community centers, churches, hospitals, high schools and colleges.
