Hosting a Blood DriveThe Siouxland Community Blood Bank partners with over 500 schools, businesses and organizations in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Through these partnerships, people are able to give back to their community by saving lives.
To host a successful blood drive, time and planning are needed. Blood drives are generally confirmed eight weeks or more before they occur. Before a date is scheduled, it is necessary to decide whether there is room inside of the location to set up the collection equipment or whether a mobile unit should be on hand. Other specifics must be decided upon as well such as a rough estimate of how many people your organization anticipates donating, best time of the day and most convenient day of the week for your organization. The Recruiters at the Siouxland Community Blood Bank are experts at suiting a blood drive to fit your organization's exact needs. They are excellent listeners who help you to achieve your goals through supportive measures, such as giving you tools to measure your blood drive potential before you arrange for it to happen. Just like you, the Recruiters are determined to save as many lives in Siouxland as possible. The Siouxland Community Blood Bank's Recruiters will also help you decide what options are best for you when planning a blood drive. Many of the volunteers who coordinate blood drives for their organizations help hang posters, call donors to make appointments and get the word out on their own; many others ask that our full staff of Tele-recruiters handle the phone calls and appointments. We suit you. Additionally, we provide the refreshments and set up the blood drive so that your time is still yours. Questions? Call 877-224-6208 for your area's Recruiter, she'll be happy to help!
